Description
The Torture Test Cube is a compact, calibration-focused 3D model designed to push your printer’s accuracy, cooling, and dimensional precision to the limit. Shaped as a simple 40 mm cube, it integrates a variety of challenging geometric features that reveal strengths and weaknesses in your printer’s setup.
Key Features:
- Overhang Steps (10°–80°): Each face includes progressive overhang ledges to evaluate cooling performance and layer adhesion.
- Bridging Gaps: Horizontal bridge sections of varying lengths measure your machine’s ability to span unsupported distances.
- Vertical Pillars & Thin Walls: Corner micro-pillars and internal thin walls expose issues with extrusion consistency, retraction, and ringing.
- Tolerance Test Slots: Press-fit channels with incremental spacing (0.1 mm steps) assess dimensional accuracy and mechanical clearance.
- Text Embossing & Engraving: Raised and recessed text highlights your printer’s ability to resolve small details.
- Surface Finish Indicators: One face includes diagonally oriented layers and slight chamfers to reveal Z-axis wobble or inconsistent extrusion.
This torture cube is intended to be printed without supports to reveal real-world performance. After printing, inspecting the cube’s edges, bridges, and fine details can help diagnose problems with cooling, retraction, speed, flow rate, belt tension, and more.
