Description

This is a small desktop vice I designed to hold various items securely in place. I originally made it to hold PCBs, but it can be used for all sorts of small projects or components.

The design keeps the overall size constant in any position, the leadscrew stays fixed, so the vice doesn’t extend or retract outward when adjusted. The mechanism is intentionally simple, with no gears, making it easy to print and assemble and also reliable at the same time.

The pads/brackets are interchangeable, allowing for easy replacement when they wear out.

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Insert the leadscrew into the main body.
  2. Screw on the knurled knob (you can add a bit of glue into the thread/knob, to keep it securely in place).
  3. Turn the knob to move the clamping jaw into position.
  4. Attach the pads/brackets to complete the setup.

Note: The leadscrew has tight tolerances, rotate it back and forth a few times to smooth out the movement for optimal operation.
