Description
🚀 UnderSky – A Low-Profile Enclosure for OpenAstroTracker 🌌
Introducing UnderSky, a compact electronics enclosure designed to mount underneath the OpenAstroTracker, keeping your setup clean and organized.
Key Features:
✅ Single USB-C Power Source – Power the OpenAstroTracker and a Raspberry PI from one USB-C connection, reducing cable clutter.
✅ Compact & Convenient – Everything is securely stored underneath the tracker for a cleaner and more portable setup.
✅ Supports Key Hardware:
- MKS Board
- Raspberry Pi 4 or 5
- USB-C Buck Converter
- GT-U7 GPS Module
Required Components
🔌 Cables & Connectors
- Right Angle USB-B Cable (For MKS Gen to RPI)
➡️ Aliexpress Link - Round USB-C Socket (Interface socket to allow for easy power disconnect)
➡️ Aliexpress Link - USB-C Buck Converter (Breaks out power from the USB-C power module back to USB-C for Raspberry Pi)
➡️ Aliexpress Link - T-Tap Wire Connector (Easy splicing the output of the USB-C Power Module (Optional))
- ➡️Aliexpress Link
- USB-C Power Module (Set to 20V)
This power module is used inside the case to break out power from the USB-C socket. You then split the connection to the MKS board and the USB-C buck converter (which plugs into the USB-C port on the Raspberry Pi).
➡️ Amazon Link - Short USB-C Cable
Just needs to be short enough to not take up too much room in the enclosure. Used for internal interface between USB-C Socket and USB-C Power Module.
