Here is a 3D printed tambourine. It operates using two balls attached to a string. The sound is surprisingly good. The drumheads slide into the designated slot, the handle is in two parts and glues to the tambourine body. The model is easy to print and easy to assemble.

You will need two pieces of string, approximately 15 cm long, to be generous. Tie a knot on the ball side and another on the tambourine body side. I also added a dab of glue to the knots to secure them. I used the string from the Maker's beginner kit.
