The Yaesu FT-290R transceiver doesn't have a suitable stand available for it. A shoulder strap was available but is hard (and expensive) to find used or NOS. I decided to have a try at making a suitable stand for the radio which could also be used as a temporary carry handle. I hope this design proves helpful to someone.(Edited)
