My first attempt was one big cube with several negative parts, but that became unwieldy. Changed my approach and used cube primitives stretched into panels and beams, allowing more precise control. The slicer didn't like all of the overlapping parts, which is when I learned the Merge function. I also added descriptive names to all of the objects. Everything labeled as "Cube" got annoying.
Hoping that my approach and notes are helpful to other newbie's like me.
