Description
M-Box: Universal Electronics Project Enclosure (Power Supply & PWM Control)
The M-Box is a robust and functional enclosure specifically designed for DIY electronics projects. Originally designed to securely house a compact power supply, a rocker switch, and a potentiometer for RPM control, it offers a clean solution for desktop or workshop applications.
Key Features:
- Integrated Control Panel: Pre-cut openings for a main switch (Go/Stop/Back) and a potentiometer for precise RPM control.
- Active Cooling: Prepared for the installation of a 12V fan to prevent heat buildup in installed power supplies.
- Professional Connection: Recess for a standardized C14 cold appliance connector for secure power supply.
- Bill of Materials / Required Hardware (BOM):
- For complete assembly, you will need the following materials:
- Enclosure Screws: 18x M3x12mm screws (for lid and enclosure structure).
- Fan Mounting: Appropriate screws for your chosen 12V fan (please note the fan's depth, e.g., M3 or M4 in corresponding length).
- C14 Connector: 2x suitable screws/nuts for attaching the C14 socket (model-dependent).
- Electronics:
- Compact switching power supply (e.g., AC/DC 12V).
- Rocker switch (3 positions: I-O-II for Go-Stop-Back).
- Potentiometer (for PWM/RPM control).
- No Liability: The author of this design assumes no liability whatsoever for damages to persons, property, or hardware arising from the replication, assembly, or commissioning of this enclosure and the electronics installed therein.
- Personal Responsibility: Each user is solely responsible for ensuring that the wiring complies with applicable safety standards.
- Expert Knowledge Required: Work on 230V should only be carried out by individuals with appropriate expertise. If unsure, please consult a qualified electrician.
