Bill of Materials
Description
Luke Skywalker's home, known as Lars Homestead, is an example of cave or troglodyte architecture, perfectly adapted to the arid and hot environment of the planet Tatooine.
Seen from the outside, the structure appears as a modest dome-shaped building or a small "igloo" of whitewashed color emerging from the sand, flanked by some salvaged artifacts or moisture vaporators (hence the unofficial name "moisture farm").
This above-ground part serves as an entrance and orientation point.
The true core of the home develops beneath the desert surface.
The dwelling is in fact excavated into the rock or ground, a choice dictated by the need to escape Tatooine's extreme temperatures. This construction technique, inspired by the traditional Berber homes of Tunisia (where the scenes were filmed), ensures natural cooling.
Now you can have one of your own!
Of course, in miniature!
