Description

Kaiserdom zu Speyer

The competition sparked my interest and inspired me to model a larger structure. Germany offers an impressive variety of churches and cathedrals. During my research, I came across the Imperial Cathedral of Speyer. Construction began between 1024 and 1030, and in 1061 the building—then the largest church in the world—was completed and consecrated. Since 1981, this Romanesque masterpiece has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. In terms of form, design, as well as use and function, Speyer Cathedral still vividly embodies the essence of one of the most significant Romanesque churches in Europe. Furthermore, its history and the methods of its restoration illustrate the development of restoration principles over time.

Printed the model in my favourite PLA Marble. Probably gonna go for a second one with a different color for the roofs. The Print Profile is scaled to 150%. The smaller it gets, the more abstract it becomes. If you want to have the smallest Details, its better with 200%.

Have fun printing!
