Description

This parts tray has seven compartments, four small, two medium and one large. Perfect for small electronics project with a few small screws/parts and some larger parts.

Tray dimensions are 215mm x 110mm. Made to fit comfortable on a 220mm x 220mm print bed.

Tray with posts

The bottom tray has posts that allow for taller objects to sit in the stack. The height was determined by the size of parts for a broken BRIO train, other heights would be possible!

Height is 36mm.

Tray without posts, the “lid”

The upper tray is like a lid (no posts) and has indents in the bottom for stacking.

Height is 10mm.

Print settings

The model is pretty simple, there are overhangs at the handles and indexes for the stacking, but shouldn't be a problem.

MaterialPLA, PETG would be suitable also and something I want to try myself
Layer heightRecommended: 0.2mm
This seems like a great compromise to get great curves in the compartments
Perimeters3, maybe bump this up if not going with 100% infill
InfillI did 100% infill, the added weight feels great when using and moving the tray around. At least try going higher than usual.
IroningEnable for smooth surface, I used a box modifier to only add ironing on the parts surface
Skirt/brimYes, I used a 3mm brim to avoid warping
SupportNo
SpeedGo fast, nothing too complicated in this model
