After 14 hours of printing, I realized that it was simply impossible to insert the pods into the AMS. I'm not sure if Bambu Lab made some kind of update to the internal parts of the first-generation AMS — mine was purchased in the first half of 2025 — but the fact is that the amazing project by “mcmaven” wasn’t 100% compatible with my AMS. I managed to work around the issue by using a Dremel to widen the pod rails, which allowed me to adapt them and use them properly in the AMS. I’m sharing this observation so that it can be looked into by the Maker World community to try to understand the reason behind this incompatibility. Could it be that the first-generation AMS has received some updated parts? Or maybe it’s starting to use components from the second-generation AMS? It’s an open question.
