Hey, I present to you my invention. It is a tool called PinEzz, used for driving pins, without using a hammer, and therefore, without bruised fingers! The device consists of three printed parts: a head, a piston and a wedge. Additionally, you need: a steel spring 0.4x5x30mm and a magnet with a diameter of 6mm x 3mm.
All parts are available in the bambulab store.
How to assemble PinEzz:
1. Clean the head of the supports.
2. Press the 6x3 magnet into the piston.
3. Stretch the spring slightly and place it on the small pin inside the plunger handle.
4. Place the piston in the head and check if it moves correctly. If something is blocking, it means that a piece of support is left in the head.
5. Press the wedge into the piston.
6. Voilà! Your tool is ready to use :)
Two versions are available:
-for 10x10.5mm pins
-for 16x10.5mm pins
The tool only works with one pin. If you load more, it may jam.
If the project is well received, it will be further developed.
The PinEzz tool tests were conducted on approximately 80 pins from one manufacturer. They were inserted and removed several times. The tests showed a low probability of jamming. However, remember that thumb pins can vary depending on the manufacturer and product quality. Therefore, if you encounter any problems using the tool, let me know in the comments. We will improve them.
