ASUS ADP-240EB Power Brick Stand
Print Profile(1)

Description
When my wife got a new laptop last year, I noticed the power brick was getting really hot when it was left flat laying anywhere other than a desk. On the carpet, the bed, anything soft acted like an insulator and made it get hot fast. So I drew up a holder for it that would keep it upright, giving it much more surface area to vent heat. Using my IR thermometer I saw about a 7℃ drop in surface temp on the block while she was playing games in bed.
Specifically sized for the ASUS ADP-240EB power block, it would fit anything that measures 165mm/6.5" long and 26mm/1" thick.
The outer profile of the support is designed to match the shape of the power block and little tabs have been added in the middle so you can use a common rubber band to keep the stand stuck to the power block when thrown in a bag, and to help keep the cable coiled up.
She's been throwing this in her laptop bag and moving it around the house since August last year and it's held up perfectly. PLA might work, but I went straight to PETG for this print and would suggest you do the same. She told me it looks pretty in Flashforge Burnt Titanium PETG 😁
UPDATE 20250715 - bought a second no-name generic power supply and it's ¼" thicker than the original. New stand added to profile that supports these larger, 1 ¼" thick blocks. Added as plate 2 to the profile.
UPDATE 20251226 - I completely redrew this one from scratch but made it fully parametric. If you need a custom size, check it out here!
