Description

This is a MTG Commander Deck Box in the shape of Squidward's house, created because of the upcoming Spongebob and MTG collaboration. This deck box holds a 100 card dragon shield sleeved commander deck, and has a large storage on top for dice, counters etc. The base is screwed into the body with threads, and the dice storage has a lid that also screws into the body. I thought that his house design would be a good shape for storing a deck, and it would be simple and easy to print.

There are 3 main parts for this model: the body, the base, and the top lid. The only part that needs supports is the body, and I have added and painted where it needs supports in the print profile, along with any needed/recommended settings. The body model dimensions are about 140mm by 190mm. The entire model takes around 500g of filament to print, so it's on the larger side. I used Bambu PLA Basic Blue Gray, but I'm sure most filaments will work fine. Supports were easy to take off for me, but it seems that depends mostly on the filament and printer etc.

EDIT

I made a separate version of the head that will fit on an A1 MINI. This version of the head is shorter on the top, so it has less space for dice etc., but it still fits a 100 card sleeved deck in the bottom. The parts are NOT compatible with each other, so for example the lid from the larger one won't work with the A1 MINI version. Other than that the A1 MINI version should work just as well as the normal size one.

I have a deck box of Patrick's Rock made here, and I will do Spongebob's house as well soon. I want to try and do more themed deck boxes, seeing as WOTC is coming out with more and more collaborations. If you have any ideas of other models I could try, or just questions/suggestions on this model, leave a comment and I will answer. If I think of anything else I will add on to this.

Thank you for reading!

Ordered Blue Marble filament, used wood and a Kingroon and Bambu blue for the windows! LOVE it and it came out perfectly (mostly besides the windows being a little funny but I could care less, it's amazing).

Hi, first off, I LOVE the colors. I thought about making a profile or a version in the profile that had different and more correct colors, but I didn't want to upload a multi-color version without testing as they can be tricky. Second, at first I thought the texture on the glass part of the windows was the seam, but when slicing it doesn't look like it places the seam there. It may have been different with the multi-color version, but most likely not. Third, nice photos taken! You took much better pictures than I ever do lol. If you want, you can upload the print profile you used in case others want to use these colors or have something similar to go off of. Thank you for showing off and boosting!

You're too kind! Yeah it could've been me flushing filament into the file as well because I was trying to reduce the print time (turning this into the marble thing you see made it take like a whole day lol). I wasn't exactly sure what happened with the glass and the windows but it's so minimal and the entire print may end up being a centerpiece in my home E>

any chance your down to upload the Print profile? I would love to print with the multi color but don’t have the time to setup the profile.

Printed perfectly, all the parts fit perfectly together too and screw in all the way. Default settings, no AMS, PLA Matte. (The stripes on the first picture come from image compression, not visable on the print)

mine doesn’t screw all the way in. the bottom section that holds the cards seems too large to fit into the top head section. I printed the a1 mini profile.

Hi, there should be enough room to screw the bottom into the top, I just verified in my model. It may be tight and that's why it cannot screw in easily. Someone else commented that they couldn't screw it in, but that was for the normal size one, and they didn't respond back so I am not sure. I know the normal size one works as I printed it for myself. It may be too tight for you as printers and materials vary, but for me the screw parts were loose. Are you able to push inward and then screw it in? Maybe the threads are not grabbing.

the overall print quality is very good, but I am experiencing some difficulty with the screw parts as they seem to be a little tight

Hi, sorry for the late reply, is it tight throughout the whole time you screw it on or just towards the end? Also is it just the main deck holder or the dice holder or both? Mine seemed good but I think someone else said it was too tight so I may make changes. Thank you for the feedback!

Lol, that could work. I had ideas for also doing one in the shape of the krusty krab and also the chum bucket, but I didn't know if I would want to do all of those. I might do the krusty krab, and make it so it is just a smaller single commander deck box. Gary would be interesting because of his stems. They would have to be screw on, as I feel they would break easy if they were just small thin stems with his eyes on top. Also his shell design would either need to be a large multicolor print or a piece that is separate and glued on. I have the core of spongebob's house done, but getting the outside details done is hard. The pattern of the pineapple is weird to get it to look correct.

Hi, thank you for boosting and rating! Can I ask how much does it not screw in all the way? What printer and material are you using? Can you show where it stops screwing in?
