Description

I made this Japanese license plate template so I could make a custom plate for the front of my 1998 Mitsubishi Evo IV. It is 100% to scale of a real Japanese plate and will require the plate to be cut into 2 with connectors to be printed on a P1S or X1C.

I printed this using Overture ASA green and white.

The Japanese lettering on the top is for the regional code and vehicle, I used Tokyo for the regional code and he 5 being the vehicle class code.

The bottom larger lettering is for the plate number itself, I used 04 (Evo generation) and 98 (model year).

The smaller Japanese lettering at the bottom is a Hiragana and from my research is used on personal passenger cars.

I went with the green and white coloring as well as representation for personal passenger cars over 660 cc. Personal passenger cars under 660 cc use a yellow plate with black lettering.

I have not mounted this to my car yet as it is still broken, however I intend to just drill the holes with a drill bit where I will need to in the plate to mount it to the car.

Also make sure the connectors are fully inside the model, I failed to check this and as you can see one of the connectors are sticking out through the top face of the plate.
