Description
I have had a desk calendar at work from RBC for a few years. The desk calendar consists of a plastic frame/holder and paper inserts that you swap out each month. Every year I go to my local RBC bank branch and get new calendar inserts from them for that year as they are free. A friend of mine also has one of these desk calendars but it recently broke. He asked me if I was able to CAD a replacement for him, due to my engineering background, as RBC no longer makes the holder only the paper inserts. I used mine to create a replica and I made some modifications to the original design that I felt improved the overall functionality. I have attached photos of the original model and what my new model looks like with the calendar inserts. For context, I live in Canada and RBC is the Royal Bank of Canada (one of our major banks), they have been giving away the inserts and plastic holders for free since at least 1999. However, they discontinued the holders a while back and I haven't been able to find them or a replacement model. This model is for anyone who needs a desk calendar for their work or home office and can get the inserts from an RBC branch. I have found it is a cheap way to have a desk calendar that you can reuse year after year. For anyone curious, I designed this in Siemens NX as that is what I am most familiar with. I have also attached the original CAD model as a STP file if anyone wants to add their company's name on it to make it look official. Apologies for the long explanation but I figured it may help someone who needs a cheap desk calendar or is in a similar situation as my friend.
