Piston Cutaway Lamp - Mid-Explosion Effect

Components & Printing:

• Main body printed in Bambu Labs Metal PLA for an authentic industrial look.
• Clear PLA lens with specialized Archimedean chord pattern.
• Designed for optimal printing without supports.

Assembly:

Assembling only requires pushing in the tea lights into the back of the cylinder housing, as well as installing (2) M3x6 screws to mount the piston to the disc brake base. Next, slide the transparent lens into the cylinder lamp housing and set on top of the piston. Then, using (2) more of the same screws, attached the lamp holder cylinder to the piston. For an added bonus, place (2) screws into the piston head as shown below.

 

Designer's Note: 

The Archimedean chord pattern in the lens isn't just for show - it creates an intricate play of light that enhances the explosion effect while paying homage to the mathematical precision found in engine design. When combined with the flickering LED lights, it produces a mesmerizing display that mimics the contained energy of an engine at work.
