Description

  • Simple single spool dotted enclosure for non-AMS Bambulab A1 Mini.
  • Created this as I wasn't satisfied with the design of existing public models.
  • Includes a handle that is directly attachable to the A1 Mini. Multiple instances could be printed for different spools as swapping should be super simple.
  • Model was printed solely on P1S.
  • Model may require some extra-improvements / iterations - e.g. reducing internal friction, improving the desiccant bay's internal design, adding a small external filament clip (so it doesn't slip when not attached to the printer).
  • Assembly is straight forward, just watch the pictures.
  • Some super-light sanding is advisable for the central rectangular area of the handle (the design of this piece is snug-fit and once installed, it is pretty hard to extract without prior sanding).

It would be nice if there were things that could be printed on the A1 mini for use with the A1 mini

The design and concept are excellent—it would be perfect with a couple of small adjustments: - The middle square rod requires a lot of sanding to fit; slightly reducing its size would help. - The rail on the box is a bit too shallow; making it deeper would improve the fit. When the nozzle is homing (moving from high to low), the filament sometimes doesn't retract fully into the box. This can lead to filament jams during printing. To prevent this, make sure to guide the filament back into the box before each print.

The shaft area is a bit tight, works well. Great design.

The size of it makes it hard to print on A1 Mini (only in a sliced variant - anybody willing is free to do it as there's open access to the model; may do it myself in the future - this ain't easy; but not sure if it makes sense since the whole idea was to have it somehow mono-block; maybe along a micro-spool, but this is not practical? ). As I wrote in the description this was tested / printed only on P1S (I suspect it works on the A1 normal and X without much hustle)

I have an A1 Combo printer. If I print 4 for Ams, will it be compatible? Also, will Esun or other filaments be compatible?

It will not be compatible because you cannot combine the casters on the tables with this stand. Try other models for something else.

The design looks great. I'm not sure what is going on in the settings as I can't find it, but just the smaller side has a print time of over 6 hours

not really matching each other difficult to assemble

Unfortunately it was somewhat poorly designed I wasted a lot of filament only to get frustrated the central piece does not fit in the case I had to grind it down with a grinding tool

The holder was just a bit too thick, and I could only get a good print when using standard support. After assembly it feels quite sturdy. Haven't used it yet.
