Description

2025/1/16 Update:
I have uploaded the individual components of each structure to facilitate multi-color printing.

I made some modifications to the animal cell model designed by Mosaic(https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2803322) to make it more suitable for educational use. I also combined the various components to facilitate multi-color printing.

The adjustments include:

  1. Changed the position of the two centrioles to be perpendicular to each other.
  2. Rearranged the positions of the endoplasmic reticulum and the nucleus.
  3. Added ribosomes on the rough endoplasmic reticulum near the nucleus to indicate that it is the rough ER.
  4. Added some additional cell structures to make it look more detailed.

Each structure is an independent part that can be adjusted with different color configurations. Printing this cell model requires two AMS devices. If only four colors are used, the color scheme may look monotonous. I recommend using seven colors. The eighth color (green) will be used for the plant cell, which helps unify the color scheme for both types of cells. It's also suggested to use transparent colors for printing the vacuole, as this better reflects the characteristics of this structure.

The printing configuration( .3mf) for 8 units has been simplified (the Maker World system indicates an excessive number of triangles). It is recommended to download the configuration for a single unit and manually replicate it to create 8 units.

Great print! To keep it cost-effective to print for all the students, I print it in white and have the kids use Sharpies to label and color the different parts.

how do you print in all those colors? is there a pause programmed in the gcode? to change filaments
