Description

This is a mod to make a MILWAUKEE Packout 2 Drawer Tool Box into a roller.

no more unstacking boxes to reach tools in the bottom box.

4932472129 Packout 2 Drawer Tool Box was the one i used ,not sure if the parts will fit other models….

Wheels and handle are from the original Rolling storage box.

The parts wheel_handle_mount_RIGHT , handle_mount_upper_RIGHT and front wheel mount needs to be mirrored in slicer and printed to get both sides.

The fit for the parts going on the rails is very tight and need some filing.

The holes that are crossed out in the pics is not used…all bolts except for the wheels are M8 , M10 for the wheels.

use as short bolts as possible ,just enough to fit a large washer and nyloc nut inside the box.

drill and reuse the screw to secure the handle to the bottom part.

There are 2 lengths of the front wheel spacer , for different wheel sizes.

Printed in PLA 30% infill 4-5 walls. Feels sturdy enough but maybe PETG is preferable.

you need to remove rails for this and i recommend printing these for reassembly.

Thank you so much for uploading this!! I have spent the last month working on this. I had to modify the mounts for the front wheels, I dont know if the European Packout is a different size, or if its a different model but I couldnt get the front wheels to work. I extended it and added 3" in casters. I am a locksmith and I mostly work in commercial facilities (warehouses, stores, and malls) and I love my packout but I hate having to unstack my boxes to get to the bottom box, and the current one drawer bottom box is bulky and messy. I am happy to share the file I made for the front mount, I dont currently know how to upload it though.

Printed in SUNLU black PETG. Worked great. Got the casters from rural king I think they were the 3 in stem casters. I got the ones with brakes. Dont mind the messy garage lol. MAN does it suck removing rails from the drawer units!

Did you have any issues with your front wheels hitting the box?

The 3 in casters will hit so they prevent a full 360 however I prefer it actually as it's prevented my box from just rolling downhill lol

lol, Oh okay, I appreciate you telling me that. I printed the front mounts and thought I must have messed something up in the instructions. I just finished doing this to a 2 drawer box, and I extended the front mounts so the casters could turn all the way. I just uploaded pictures.

Very well thought out design. I just finished it. only thing I did which probably wasn’t necessary but I upped the infill of the front brackets to 50% cause I like to be overkill. I can keep you updated as I use it. will be adding foam to this 2 drawer and my 3 drawer multi depth to better organize tools.

the carrying handles on the side or the dolly "pull" handle? I would not recommend picking it up by the pull handle but if you dont have a ton of tools in there then sure you could.

If anyone needs help with bolt sizing. I used (4) m8x45 bolts for the sides. (6) m8x50 and (2) m8x70 bolts for the rear. (2) m10x120 for the wheels (I used aftermarket wheels so this might be too long for the original wheels). Just used regular m8 and m10 nyloc nuts for everything. I used stem caster wheels for the front so I did not use a bolt for those. I would recommend washers on the inside to spread the pressure out more evenly.

Hi can you let me know which one do we mount the wheels on those three holes in there?

Considering investing in Packout but the Rolling Drawer is never in stock so I'm thinking of buying the box instead and using this 3D model, but it also feels a bit silly to buy a box with wheels and throw the box away… is it not possible to buy wheels and stands etc separately as spare parts

you have to strip the rolling base of its wheels (you dont use the axle) Also youll need the pull handle assembly. You could theoretically use this pull handle kit https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-PACKOUT-Low-Profile-Handle-for-PACKOUT-Rolling-Tool-Box-48-22-8027/330951122 Wheel kit https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Milwaukee-Material-Enhanced-Maneuverability/dp/B0DPPQH7SH/ref=sr_1_4?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.bcfImGWxZh7C7EDqJB86u6oV_Up1DTq97AH37yYdmRFELH1_Y-YwWDLNIITk6DpLW9XgAae4MNuozNCf08DWlj7IMmvLY_EX2QRR5MkrcFkBP70GcuoTh2_CkSOazOkPhh4TbYb52sQrIWnuZOnWqp3Y3AkKtZ2DsKKCuC5elnSF05Tu86LXm15esQ2Bu319HnGT_ZCTz8s2jScYJ6MG66fxudBlOfVQH6uS7KzWACE.se0LH0-sJKC8jefLDwl7e7VMjIGuu4ZIU3kjP2Dg3E4&;;dib_tag=se&keywords=packout+wheels&qid=1772499864&sr=8-4&xpid=hx4oRh39DiUE7 since you arent in the US im not sure what you have in stockholm but id be happy to answer any questions. Hopefully those links i sent and pics help with finding the parts you need.
