Description

Beyerdynamic MMX200 is a wireless gaming headset with (in my opinion) only one flaw: the ear pads.
The original pads of the MMX200 are made of artificial leather. The ears get uncomfortably warm very quickly and you start to sweat under the ear pads. Unfortunately, there are currently no suitable fabric ear pads for the MMX200/150/100 headsets, as Beyerdynamic has opted for a new, completely unique locking mechanism (different to the old design of the EDT 770 or the new design of the new DT Pro X models).

Brief overview of the Beyerdynamic mounting solutions:
Old mounting method (without Pro X): Here, the ear pads were placed around the headphones using a kind of tab to secure them. A hairdryer was needed to heat the strap.
The foam pad was clamped in the ear cup with an extra clamping ring.

New mounting method (with Pro X):  Here, the ear pads are clamped in the headphone holder by a plastic ring inside the ear pads. There is a notch in the ear cups for this purpose.
The foam pad (now also covered with fabric) is clamped in the ear cup by an extra plastic ring.

For this reason, I looked for ways to use the original fabric/velour upholstery.
Inspired by IsntFunny's idea of printing an adapter, I developed my own adapter.
Reasons for my own design:
IsntFunny's ring was too thin, so with the new ear pads the ears pressed against the headphones (uncomfortable to wear).
In addition, the size made it impossible to place the foam pads in the ring. The indentation inside the ring was only large enough to hold the new ear pads in place (diameter, height and shape).

I therefore developed the entire design from scratch.

Mounted the 45° Version in red.

Profil 45°:
Pro: Support easy to remove, pads easier to fit
Cons: Longer printing time, more filament needed, some artefacts at support connections

Profil horizontal:
Pro: Shorter printing time, less filament, cleaner finish
Cons: Support tricky to remove, pads could stick on support-leavings if not removed carefully

Please give me feedback if there is still room for improvement or how the adapter fits you.
