F-104 Starfighter

Overview:
Known as the “Missile with a Man in It,” the Lockheed F-104 was a high-speed interceptor and tactical fighter developed in the 1950s.

Development History:
The brainchild of Kelly Johnson, the F-104 was optimized for speed with a small, straight fuselage and short, thin wings. It first flew in 1954.

Historical Significance:
The F-104 set multiple speed and altitude records and was widely exported to NATO countries. It served in various roles, including strike and reconnaissance, though it gained a mixed reputation due to safety concerns.

  • Set 15 world records during its career.

Oh man, the F-104 is such an amazing aircraft! It was fun designing this and building it! Like the rest, it shouldn't require any glue, should print nice and quick, and be ready to play with in about an hour!
