Mini Toolbox Lid Holder (For various brands)
Print Profile(1)

Description
This clip is a quick, easy and cheap way to hold the lid of your mini toolboxes open without having to remove it to close the lid. It is less than a 13min print and uses only 3.42g of filament! I designed this specifically for the Kobalt Mini toolbox, but it should work with many other mini tool boxes because I made the wedge piece to allow my design to make up for any dimensional differences in all the different mini toolboxes. Although you only need 1 of these clip assemblies to hold the lid open on your toolbox, I made a left and right version so you can decide which side one you would like. (They are labeled in the “Objects” section and labeled on the plates in Bambu Studio. The other two pieces are symmetrical so you can be used for either side.) These parts were intentionally designed to be very tight fitting when putting the pieces together so there is as little movement as possible and they won’t disassembly by accident.
Install Instructions:
Step #1: Test the fitment of the dove tail connections. The only dove tail that should need trimming is the small wedge piece that is shown in the far right picture below. Trim a very small amount of the edge off and test fit it into the block to make sure it is a tight fit. The tighter the better so it will not back off and fall out.

Step #2: Put ONLY the clip piece onto the brim of the toolbox, and gently bend the piece with the dovetail while pushing down on the clip so the clip will be fully resting on the brim on the toolbox. Slide the clip back all the way until it cannot go any farther back. (You may need to open & close the lid slightly as needed.)

Step #3: While supporting the clip, use a little bit of force to slide the square/block piece onto the dove tail of the clip until the two pieces are flush with each other. (The 2 dove tails on the block are different sizes so they cannot be installed wrong without fitting incorrectly.)

Step #4: Ensure the ramp part of the wedge piece is facing the back of the toolbox (Green arrow in picture below) and insert it into the dove tail slot on square/block piece. Make sure you hold the square/block piece while sliding the wedge as far in as you can until it is tight. Since all mini toolboxes have different dimensions, this wedge is meant to hopefully fit all mini toolboxes and make up for thicker or thinner dimensions of the different toolboxes.
