360° LARGE 3d scanning frame marker based scanner
Print Profile(2)

Description
YOUTUBE video showing the use of this 3d scanning frame:
Improved LARGE version of my scanning frame v2 which is working great using RaptorX in parallel laser scanning mode.
Motivation for designing this 3d scanning frame:
- Object can be scanned 360° from top to botton in one go!
- No markers on object needed!
- No alignment of several scans needed!
It works amazing and i would call this next level 3d laser scanning.
Especially for flat objects this setup will allow to align top and bottom side with very high accuracy.
Frame was designed using FreeCAD v1.0.
BOM:
- 3mm Marker
- 6mm Marker
- M6 inserts (M6x12.7)
- long M6 screws (to fix the object in the frame)
How it works:
The 3d scanning frame can be used with any 3d laser scanner supporting marker detection. It even can be used with any 3d scanner supporting marker scan (e.g. NIR, Full-Field, Structured Light Scanner, etc.) Especially laser scanner such as Creality Raptor & RaptorX, Revopoint MetroX and Shining3d HX should benefit from the use of this scanning frame. Before using the frame all marker dots should be registered on both sides by using Global Marker registration. To get all markers from both sides registered some temporary marker around the frame might be needed. When using RaptorX i could register both sides easily with marker dice attached. The Global Marker registration is mandatory for the scanning SW to identify the exact position of the 3d scanner 360° around the frame.
Any feedback and suggestions for further improvement welcome!
