Description

This outlet box was designed from the ground up for 3D printing. No supports necessary. Prints in under three hours depending on your settings.

This version is also easily nest stackable for easy storage for later projects.

Note that PLA is not suitable for electrical outlet boxes because of its low melting point. Modern plastic outlet boxes are typically injection molded using PVC. But PVC is not suitable for 3D printing. Comparable 3D printable filaments for use as electrical box material include PETG, ABS, or anything that has an initial HDT (heat distortion temperature) of 60° C or higher and is not flammable.

PLA's HDT starts in the 50° - 60° range, and is flammable, so don't use it for this print unless you're just modeling for a fit test or proof of concept.
