Description

I looked at a bunch of accessory drawers for the AMS riser, but none of them seemed to fit my particular needs, so I used the blank drawer to customize what I feel is a efficient layout.  The Ends drawer is for everything hotendy, with wells for 4 complete hotends, plus extra screws and boots. Thermistors, heating elements and clips, Thermal grease ( although this well can alternately hold 2 unmounted hotend fans. A well for a spare extruder, nozzle cleaning rods, lubricants, and easy access allen wrenches, with 2 slots for 1.5mm because I have one I use exclusively for pulling stuck filament out of hotends. There is also 3 custom wells for the 3 small tools by K2_Kevin. With optional magnet recesses to hold them in place if you put magnets in yours. There are also 3 other wells for small screws and other bits. the two smaller one have scooped front sides to facilitate getting small parts out. It has wells for cutters and wipers, too.

The Odds drawer is more filament oriented and has space for small flush cutters ( with catches to hold it slightly closed so it won't spring out of its recess ) A small needle nose pliers, and an AMS PTFE disconnect wrench, as well as a slot to hold spare AMS length PTFE tubes, a recess for AMS compliant filament clips ( like the ones I published ) another I use for the soldering iron ends for setting threaded inserts. A well large enough to hold most available scrapers plus some fine point tweezers, and any other loose item, plus a well for spare scraper blades.

There is a large slot that will hold exactly 2 glue sticks, but of the 3 different brands I had lying around, only Bambu brands glue sticks are small enough to fit in an AMS Riser V2 height drawer.

ETA- on request I added a 3mf file for the pictured drawer fronts, including the shortened drawer fronts.  Change the filament colors to your primary and accent colors, and under objects, assign the accent color to the text objects, look under the plate to see the text in place.

Which drawer fronts did you use, please?

I made my own that say ODDS and ENDS on them, I did not think anyone else would want otherwise perfectly smooth drawer fronts with those specific words on them. Why? Do you think I should add the files for the drawer fronts?

I like the idea of having them say Odds & Ends. It adds some whimsy to the riser.

Okay- I added them to the original model post, give it a few hours for review before it shows up in the listing. I also included the shortened version of the drawer pulls I made for mine.

Fantastic, great fit. Now I am looking for a talented person to make a fold down or up cover for the front to block light when I don't want it. I love the AMS Riser but I think that would be a great next project with more talent than me.

Can’t you just turn off the light? The light in the Bambu X1C just turns off on the control panel.

I would like to leave it on at night but in my small apartment it is very overpowering. I have adapted the side guards but was trying to find a talented person to make a pop in light block for the front. I have a piece of construction board that I use now but it seems a bit hinky to me. I did not like the lights lower in the case either, they didn't seem to hold there very well.

Wonderful. I love having custom spots for the spare parts. Can you provide any more photos of what you have in your drawers?

The pictures I published with the models pretty much show everything in mine. In the right back corner of the Ends drawer I have spare thermistors and heating elements for the hot ends and the steel clips to hold the heating elements in place. Where you are keeping big tweezers, I keep a pair of Knipex flush cutters and a small needle nose pliers I use for tearing off support. Where you are storing a silicone wiper I put thermal grease packets. I don't have anything in my extruder well, yet.

Thanks! I took a lot of inspiration from you where I could for what fit in the drawers. Thanks again for the design! Love it ❤️
