  • Zippo x 1:

Description

This kit functions as a insert for a standard Zippo lighter case. It holds 3 different length 0.8mm needles (3.5, 4, 4.5cm), two small spools of  thread (with separated passthroughs to the top), one compartment for small buttons etc, and one larger compartment for small safety pins/pin needles/etc.

The kit is Version 001and currently in testing by me. I'll probably update it in the future and am open to include your feedback.

Printed great, used matte pla and it printed really cleanly, and fits in the lighter body really nicely.

love this print. as an ex smoker who kept all his Zippo lighters this has given me a reason to keep one with me again. I have already used it twice at work. excellent job.

printed perfectly. very sturdy. Two minor alteration suggestions, a tiny nick to hold the thread end on the mini spools and a teeny peg for that teeny spool. it's so awesome to be able to use my old zippo cases again!

Super interested in this kit. Before I print one, can you confirm how it's held up and whether there's a version 2 in the works?

Holding up great! the only con is that sometimes the safety pins can come out of their slot and move around freely in the lid. So for version 2 I plan to put some kind of wall there to prevent that, but sadly haven’t found the time yet.

Looks very cool! Does the case stay closed when it's moving around in a pocket or bag? The spring loaded mechanism to keep the lid closed is on the inserts, so that would not be present here, correct? Is there some kind of friction against the lid to keep it closed, or do you have to wrap it with a rubber band or smth?

there should be enough friction to keep it closed. so no need for a rubber band :)
