Description

Kreg Track Saw Square V2:

This is V2 of the Kreg Track Saw Square. A user stated that the post for the cams broke on their model so I redesigned it to be stronger. The posts are now much larger in diameter. They are solid due to the number of wall loops. I also increased the infill ratio and redesigned it to no longer require any hardware. The whole thing can now be printed. I recommend using PLA+.

Assembly:

  1. Remove supports
  2. Place cams on posts
  3. Place washers on cams
  4. Twist screws into cam post holes

Use:

  1. Insert the hooked end at roughly 45 degree angle to the underside of the track with the cams turned sideways.
  2. Bring to level with track
  3. Turn cams until snug and roughly equal to each other. (Cams do not to be fully perpendicular to the track. Turning them past snug puts undo stress on the cam posts.)
  4. Use it.

Original V1 File Description:

This is a square for the Kreg Track Saw or “Adaptive Cutting System” to allow you to quickly square with sheet goods. It latches onto the track using cam locks. Ensure that the cams are turned to roughly the same position when installed on the track to make sure it's square. I printed mine out of PLA+ but regular PLA should work fine. This is my first upload. If you have suggestions for improvements, please leave a comment.

While not absolutely necessary, for best results you will need:

  • 2 M5 threaded inserts
  • 2 M5 washers
  • 2 M5 button head or pan head screws

This is 100% my fault but I thought I would post it to maybe save someone else from the same fate. I thought this would work for the Kreg Accucut track for a circular saw with the adapter, but the cams don't get close enough to the track. I now read closer and it is for the actual track saw. But really solid and well designed model. I printed with PETG without the heat inserts and it seems like it will hold very securely... if I ever get the actual track saw... Thanks for the model anyway!

I went with the heat set inserts for the posts. Super strong and works great

This is awesome. Any chance you could add a profile for the A1? It looks like it will just fit but it is saying the A1 is incompatible.

Oh, I didn't realize it would fit. I just updated it. I will let it auto-check all models in the future. This was my first upload. And thank you for the boost!

When slicing I'm getting an error that "G-code path goes beyond plate boundaries" on my x1c. Removing brims prevents the error. How essential are the brims? If not, you may want to change the print profile.

They are not important. In fact, I wasn't aware they were enabled. I'll look into it. Thank you.

I just downloaded the published version and sliced it. It was okay for me and had no brims. Are you sure you didn't accidentally enable them somehow? Maybe in a user preset profile that it defaulted to?

Ah okay it’s too big for my printer.

What are the measurements for this? I’d like to make it using the downloadable files. But I’m not sure it will fit on my printer

The hold downs snapped off fairly quickly. I reprinted with 100% infill on those parts. Other than that this is perfect.

Thanks, I think I will try to make those beefier.

Just uploaded a V2 to address the problem so that hopefully it won't happen in the future. Hope this helps.

I don’t know. I do know Kreg’s track is different from everyone else’s, but I don’t know if it is in a way that will affect this square.
