Description

I was using Randy_S's Dunlop Straplok-compatible strap hangers for a while with success.  However, I recently bought another instrument that uses Schaller-style straplocks instead.  So, I took the idea and designed my own hanger that works with both Dunlop Straplok straps AND with Schaller-style (ESP, Fender, etc) strap locks.

If you are using a Dunlop Straplok, the strap pin fits inside of the holder and locks-in.  You can release the strap with the button per usual.  If using a Schaller-style straplock, the lock will engage with the outside of the holder and lock-on.  You release the strap by pulling the release pin.

These are designed to be used with one medium (2-inch) 3M Command strip.  There is a slight recess on the back to accommodate a strip so that pulling on the strap does not put torque on the strip.  This requires using a normal foam-like strip not the thin clear/waterproof ones.

The print is in two parts: one is the endpin with a hexagonal base, the other is the wall-mount holder.  These will friction-fit together tightly.  To assemble, ensure that the “key” part of the endpin is facing the “downward” part of the holder and press together.  The “key” must point downward to accommodate Schaller-style locks which will lock over the top.  If the parts fit together too tightly and won't go together, I found that using a deburring tool on the hexagonal part of the endpin will provide enough relief.
