Precision Car Compass

The Precision Car Compass is a versatile tool designed to ensure precision and durability. It is entirely made of 3D-printed parts using two optimized printing profiles:

  • Threaded Parts: Layer height of 0.08 mm to guarantee maximum precision.
  • Rod and Rollers: Layer height of 0.2 mm to ensure greater structural strength.

Easy and Stable Assembly

The parts fit together perfectly, but for greater stability, it is recommended to use glue during assembly.

Screw Usage

The screws may initially be difficult to turn. To make the first use easier, it’s advised to use pliers to start the movement. After this initial phase, the screws will adapt, and it will be possible to turn them easily by hand.

Printing Tips

  • Do not modify the print layouts on the print bed! After several tests, it was determined that this arrangement is the most optimal for print quality and functionality.
  • Recommended Material: PETG, for strength and durability.
  • Alternative Material: It can also be printed in PLA. While it hasn’t been tested yet, it’s believed to work just as well.

Smooth Operation with Rollers

The rollers are designed to facilitate smooth movement of the compass while in use, ensuring accurate and effortless tracing even on curved or uneven surfaces.

Although designed for the automotive industry, where it excels at tracing precise curves on metal surfaces, this compass is also perfect for many other fields:

  • Woodworking: Drawing circles and curves on wood.
  • Tailoring: Creating precise patterns on fabric.
  • Hobby and Modeling: Crafting details on plastic and other materials.
  • Architecture and Industrial Design: Precise drafting on prototypes.
  • Technical Education: An ideal tool for practical lessons.
