Description
Replacement for the stock mirror spider for Sky-Watcher 200 telescopes.
The original spider's M5 bolt for the main mirror and 3 x collimating bolts can be used.
Designed with three veins to give JWST-like diffraction spike pattern!
I found this gave improved collimation and improved focus stability over night, even when printed out of PLA.
For best results use PETG-CF or PLA-CF. Thermal expansion/contraction matters over a night of astro:
When printed in PLA-CF contraction from 22 C to -20 C across the 233 mm diameter was 0.25 mm.
When printed in PLA contraction from 22 C to -20 C across the 233 mm diameter was 0.40 mm.
Requires:
5 x M5 brass inserts
4 x M5 x 6mm bolts
3 x M4 brass inserts
I printed 50% honeycomb infill, with 5 x wall layers
