Description

Get ready for a rocketry spectacle… presenting Vanishing Act!  This minimum diameter 38mm rocket was designed to go fast and high with some crazy acceleration!  With a 38mm motor mount tube, it can fly motors with casings up to a 1080 size, meaning you can easily break mach 1 on some pretty small motors, pulling up to 90G's of acceleration!  You'll definitely hear the roar of the motor… but the rocket will vanish off the pad!

The rocket features:
Dual-Deploy recovery

Avionics bay for small altimeters (the one I fly is an Eggtimer Quasar)

Airfoiled 1010 rail guides

Integrated hardpoints for recovery harnesses
Optional aeropack-style motor retainer

I have flown this rocket on H and I motors, and have pushed speeds of up to 800ft/s with no issue.  On a j425, the rocket would be able to break mach 1, so be prepared for a fast and high flight when using L2 class motors!

The rocket uses a 38mm motor mount tube from Loc Precision as the structure for the booster.  The booster segments should fit over this tube and should be epoxied together over top of it.  I'd recommend attaching your recovery harness before securing the topmost section!  The payload section is 2 pieces, and I would again recommend attaching a permanent recovery harness to the hardpoint before assembly.

The openrocket file is provided in the models.  Feel free to play around with the configurations to see how high you can get it!
