Description

Summary

This is a top mount bracket to add an additional shelf to an Edsal (aka Muscle Rack) storage rack. For my purposes I had split the shelving unit into two so I was left with one part that had the uprights sticking up in the air, serving no purpose. So I designed this bracket to slide over the end of the upright.

STEP file is included to easily remix as you see fit.

Supplies needed:

  • 1x2 inch lumber
  • 1/3 inch plywood or similar for the shelf

Notes:

  • Each bracket will use ~70g of filament when printed with 1.6 mm walls and 30% infill.
  • The holes in the bracket are for adding a bolt and hardware, should you want to tie everything together better. Not really needed though as the uprights are already pretty stable and the 1x2's fit tightly into the bracket.
  • The angle cut on the 1x2's is 45 degrees.
  • No supports are needed when printing at the 45 degree angle in the 3mf file.

Credit for the original end cap I based this on goes to jcantalupo: (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2061320). I extended the groove to make the bracket stronger.
