Modular Spool Stand, Only 8 Grams Each

FULLY MODULAR, LIGHT SPOOL STAND

Edit: i added a new print profiles that contais edge plates with a stop, to prevent the spool from falling.

I made this spool stand as a quick and cheap solution to prevent spools from rolling away on a table, desk, or shelf.ù

Each piece is only 8 grams, so its very cheap and quick, ideal for temporary storing solutions but will do the job just fine even for more long term solutions.

There are 3 different pieces, plus a different print profile with a standalone non-modular verison:

• 2 edge plates: where there is a connector only on one side, to close the chain, if you only need to hold 2 spools you only need to print this
• 1 middle plate, you can print as many as you need 

In the model file the items are divided in 3 build plates, you just need to click on the one you want to print and hit the “slice plate” button, all the settings are already tuned in:

• the first one has both end plates
• the second one has the middle plate, you can clone it to reach as many pieces you need
• the third one has a complete set

On a A1/P1/X1 you can fit 9 pieces in a single palte!

*Size of each plate: 80 mm depth, 72 mm width, 8 mm height. (the print profile with stops adds 4mm to the edge plates)
