Description

Update, new Model: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1045309#profileId-1031009

I got inspired by @iviyan's model but his model didn't fit the paper towel rolls i had at home, so i made a new one from scratch with a improved spring and mechanism.

I made two versions, one for 260mm (10,2") and one for 280mm (11"). Additional i made A1 Mini compatible versions where the base is made out of 2 parts that screw together.

Key Benefits

No Glue needed, no Bolts, Screws or Nuts needed!

No support needed for printing!

How it works

Just push the button on the top and the kitchen paper roll will stop spinning and you can tear off one or more sheets.

You can tear off sheets without dirty or wet the entire roll when having wet or dirty hands. The Button can be pressed with every body part you like (elbow, forearm for example 😉)

I recommend matte filament for the button for a little bit more friction.

Assembly

The Spring fits tight into the base without the need of glue. The Button on top has a little bit more clearance so it can be taken off for changing the roll.

Spring

The spring can be printed with PETG for more durability, mine with PLA didn't break yet :)

Updates

Update 31/12/2024: Added a Model that can be printed with A1 Mini where the base consists of two parts that screw together.

Update 03/01/20205: Decreased the diameter of the lower end of the button to fit easier into the rolls.
