AUX Fan Deflector P1S/X1C
Print Profile(5)

Description
The airflow from the auxiliary fan duct provides air flow only to the rear part of the build plate. With this deflector the air flow from the auxiliary fan is distributed evenly across the build plate. This reduces the risk of parts warping when printing with warp-sensitive material and provides better cooling when printing large models.

Update 2025-04-21:
I got some good feedback on the Beta-version without support. I've done some minor tweaks and uploaded a new version 6.3. Added a brim to the model for better adhesion to the plate when printing. No more need for support on the model.
Update 2025-03-02:
Uploaded a BETA version, 6.3 with chamfered edge so no support is needed on the model. Feel free to try it out and I would like to get some feedback if it works out for you. I've tried it for a while and it sits firmly in place and no issues printing without supports.
V6.2 Update 2025-03-02:
Some people have experienced bad fit. I have modified the model slightly for better printability and better fit (Thanks to @Puni2k for pointing out the issue with v6 version). I hope this version will solve the issues some users have had. Also thanks to @hotellonely for doing thermal measurements which I could use to further improve the model for more even air flow.
- Updated support settings
- Changed tab position
- Removed fillet from bottom
- Slight change to first slot which was too thin in one area which caused a small hole in the model
V6 Update 2025-02-22:
- Added more fins for better distribution of air flow across the build plate.
- Slightly thinner model for decreased backpressure and higher airflow.
Air flow from fan duct without deflector, does not provide sufficient cooling on the front part of the build plate and excessive cooling on the rear part of the plate.

With deflector installed:

V5.1 Update 2025-02-18:
- One tab was missing in the V5 model. Fixed in this update. Should provide better fit in the fan duct.
V5 Update 2025-02-05:
I've got great response and feedback on this model and I have taken this feedback and improved the model. The previous model could cause some warping of large prints, which is the opposite of what my intention with this model was. I've concluded that this was due to the airflow was directed downward onto the build plate which cooled of the plate too much. The V5 model is tilted slightly upwards to prevent cooling the build plate.
Update 2025-01-12 - Version 4:
- Updated design for more even flow distribution
- Added text “Up” to clarify direction the deflector should be installed
- No more print profile for PLA/PETG support, since it seems to cause confusion. Support is easily removed with generic print profile
Update 2025-01-12 - Version 3.1:
Did some changes to the tabs for a tighter fit on the fan duct.
Update 2025-01-05 - Version 3 available:
I made some additional testing and tried out a couple of variants of the air flow ducts and orientation and this model provided most even flow across the build plate.
I changed the orientation of the model in the slicer for easier printing and removal of supports.
During my tests I've found that small models in PLA will print easier without the fan duct if the model is placed correctly on the build plate, since PLA can be cooled much quicker than other materials. Bigger parts that is printed on the front part of the plate will benefit of a more even air flow.
I have printed model in Bambu PETG HF and recommend using PETG or more heat resistant material.
