Description

I made this greenhouse bench to use it in a diorama we printed. The bench works well with miniature toy plants in 1/6 scale. I use it to store some jars, and tools that are used in the greenhouse.

I printed it at 85% on my A1 mini, which made it 1:10 scale-ish. it printed perfectly and the supports came off with no trouble at all. thank you so much!

What is the final size of this potting bench in inches? I exported the file but my software thinks it is 1mm x 3mm x which can't be right. I am wondering if it is 1 inch x 3in x4in or even larger? I scaled it up to that but am having trouble with one of the legs adhering to the plate and am wondering if I am printing it too small or need to add a brim or I have bad filament. Thanks!

Hi, the bench, they way we printed it, should be roughly 2inchx5inchx7.5inch. It is possible that the stl-file has much smaller dimensions, but the 3mf-file should have the enlarged profile for this print as you see it in the pictures. So if you use the stl-file I would definitely enlarge it to whatever size is suitable for your needs, but for sure much larger than 1mmx3mm. Hope that helps.

Thank you! I attempted to print it this morning but I had failure. I have another question for you, what type of supports are needed? The grid shaped ones or organic. I know it says the file doesn't need supports, but I feel it would be impossible to print past the legs without supports. My apologies as I'm pretty new to 3d printing.

Hi, we use the organic tree support for this print and it should mostly generate them in the taller bottom section (if printed laying on its back side). I included a screenshot of our slicer picture with the setting on the left. Hope that helps.

Absolutely spectacular! I scaled this down to 1:12 for a dollhouse and it printed perfectly in Matte PLA.

how much bigger should I make it for a 1/6 scale?

It depends on your dolls height. I would measure the distance between the floor and waist of the doll while it is standing up and adjust the high so that table is as high as it’s waist. it works for my dolls as is. but some dolls 1/6 dolls are taller than mine.
