Description

Take your puzzling to the next level with these stackable, nesting, lightweight sorting trays.  Separate pieces by shape, color, or any other method; the trays are easy to pick up and move around the puzzle as needed.  The trays stack securely, whether aligned or offset on a diagonal, and the small but useful handles allow you to easily lift and move trays, whether stacked or single.

These trays can also be used to sort beads, crafting supplies, circuit board components, or any other small objects you might want to keep from running away from you.  The possibilities are endless!

Each tray is just under 8.25" x 8.25" x 1", including handles. Most 1,000-piece puzzles will fit into four trays comfortably. Each tray can hold roughly 250 pieces, depending on the thickness of the paperboard and the size of the pieces.

Trays can be scaled up or down as needed without impacting how they nest and stack. Scale only in the X and Y axis, not the Z axis! I've printed them as small as 50% scale in X and Y without trouble, and regularly use these mini-trays for small parts.

Printing recommendations:

  • No supports necessary
  • Brim recommended if you have bed adhesion issues
  • Print with the flat bottom on the print bed (same orientation you use the tray in)

Loved this print, was perfect with zero changes to download! I subsequently modified it for a Christmas gift for my recently married puzzle loving daughter only by removing the graphics on the trays and adding individual notes in each tray. Also modified the design only slightly for a bottom tray version with downward hooks for the bottom and then also a lid with opposing hooks to give a place for a personalized picture and a method for using standard hair elastics to keep trays together when needing to 'clear the table'. Thanks for the great design!!!

Having the hooks to be able to secure it closed it is a great idea! If you're able to upload a remix that would be awesome :)

Thx for this great design. My wife, who’s name I will not mention 🙃, is a puzzle aficionado and loves these trays. Greatings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱. Hey look 👀 the trays are similar to the Dutch flag. May the force be with you, Master Yoda, aka Marcel Do or do not, …….., there is no try

Replying to @bjornbehr :
It looks like they just stopped printing a tray shortly after the bottom is finished.

These are perfect and printed up just fine even for a newbie like me. Cookiecad Witchcraft. the only thing that I would change would be to add a lid, rather than printing up another full container.

Great print, small changes would be having the logo on the base so things don't get stuck as you move them around. it would also be great to have a taller option to use when sorting Lego.

I tried my logo on the bottom and it proved to be an issue with anything less than a squeaky clean print bed, unfortunately. Good point about the taller trays though! I've seen a few people scale them in Z, so I'll add a taller version to the to-do list.

5 Stars!! I did print them at 125% as we like 1000 piece puzzles, I have 4 printed now, but each timewe load a new color filament to print with, I am making a puzzle tray with that color!
