Description
I featured the design of this enclosure on my YouTube channel “Functional Print Friday”. Here's a link to the playlist where all the design details are covered: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL27Enw03rs_gRb4Alw8CHOZV2MdGA2OTy&si=bCgrPHaKOv-xoWvi
In short, there are several lengths of ‘edges’ that can be printed out that form the sides and bottom/top. They connect together, and have slots to use coroplast for solid sides. This is the coroplast that I used: https://amzn.to/40gs4oo You can use anything for the sides that's 4mm thick. Even cardboard would work, but coroplast is sturdy and cheap, and available in huge sizes since it's the same material used for signs.
There are two styles of corners and they can be interchanged. A ‘gender-changer’ piece is needed for each bottom corner, so you'll need to print 4 for 1 enclosure. There is also an optional “side rail open face connector” that will stiffen the sides if you have open sides or an open bottom. I kept the bottom open on my enclosure and used one of each of these in the 4 bottom sides.
I printed mine in Bambu PLA Basic, but any filament should work. There is a 250mm edge rail that is printable on a standard Bambu printer, but you have to change the machine parameters to 253mm printable height instead of 250mm.
The coroplast is held in place to the edges with these screws: https://amzn.to/494ZOaX
If you want to use the “magnet corners”, these are the correct magnets: https://amzn.to/4fDfx3y
I designed this for my laser engraver, and I'm including the extra parts I designed that mount to/through the 4mm coroplast, but these parts are not necessary to build a standard enclosure.
