Description
These adorable chow chow cookie cutters give cookies love and fluffiness, it captures the charming essence of the chow chow perfectly.
Using generic PLA, I crafted this cutter with clear, detailed lines to create sharp impressions in dough. The results speak for themselves—check out the transition from cutter to cookie! The finished cookies came out looking as cute as the design itself, ready to be devoured (or admired!). 🍫✨
Whether you’re a chow chow lover or just a fan of unique baking tools, this project shows how a little creativity can turn baking into art.
Print Settings for the Chow Chow Cookie Cutter 🖨️
For this project, I used the following 3D printing setup:
- Printer: Bambu Lab A1 with a 0.4mm nozzle for precise details. (Haven't tested other nozzles, should be fine)
- Build Plate: Smooth PEI Plate/High Temp Plate (should work with any plate, I did a 3D effect plate for fun)
- Material: PLA Basic, chosen for its reliability and food-safe properties when used with cookie cutters.
- Layer Height: 0.16mm (High Quality), providing excellent detail and smooth edges for the intricate design.
These settings worked perfectly to capture the details of the fluffy chow chow design while keeping the cutter functional and sturdy. The high-quality layer height ensured crisp impressions in the cookie dough, resulting in super cute cookies ready for baking.
Baking Tips for the Chow Cutters 🐶
- Press Firmly: When using the cutter, press down firmly to ensure all the details transfer into the dough.
- Remove Outer Edges: Instead of lifting the entire cookie with the cutter, peel away the excess dough around the edges to keep the shape intact.
- Chill Your Dough: For even cleaner cuts, chill your dough for 15-20 minutes before using the cutter. This prevents sticking and keeps those cute details sharp.
- Use Flour Sparingly: Lightly dust the cutter with flour or powdered sugar to prevent sticking without affecting the cookie’s look.
- Bake Evenly: Place cookies on a lined baking sheet and bake at an even temperature to maintain their adorable chow shape.
