JUNKER-SIDELOADER: Bolt-Action Blaster w/ Realistic Shell-ejection
IMPORTANT: This is a toy that fires a projectile! Never fire at pets or unwilling participants. This can damage drywall and eyeballs, use caution and protective eyewear. Never brandish this as a real weapon or bring it out in public. Just because you know it's a toy, doesn't mean other people will. Make sure to check your local laws regarding replica firearms/ toy guns. Enjoy, be safe, and be smart!
For my 5th shell ejecting blaster I decided to challenge myself with a side-loading magazine, and I am very happy with the results. As always, I am a self-taught designer with no formal education in 3d modeling just trying my best to make toys that I think are cool. I do my best to create high-quality models, but I realize that there is room for improvement in all of my designs and documentation. All of the files I have provided are in .step format so that anyone is able to easily modify, remix or remake for any of your own wants/needs and I encourage people to do so! This build requires extra non-printed hardware (Screws, nuts & springs) and a little bit of post-processing (Sanding, filling & support removal). Make sure your are ready for a project before you start this print!

PRINTED PARTS:
Recommended Filament for functional components: PLA or PLA+
Why?: PLA and PLA+ have the right mix of flexibility and strength for the functional components in this design. This design has only been tested using these filaments but other filament types or PLA with different infill may work for you.
Filaments to avoid for the functional components: PETG, PET, Silk PLA, Matte PLA
Why Not?: These filaments are either to brittle or have weak layer adhesion, which makes them a poor choice for the functional components in this model as they may not stand up to the impact force or tension required of them.
- I used PLA-CF for the black parts because I like the way it looks but it is not necessary.
PRINT ORIENTATION: If you are using the raw model files to set up your own plates to print, most files WILL NOT load into the slicer in the correct print orientation. The Auto-Orientation feature in the slicer should not be trusted for all parts, I would recommend looking at how I have the parts oriented in my print profile as they are essential for the strength of the functional components.
Parts with a * after the name are considered Functional Components.

Where to buy springs? : I use AliExpress for all my 10mm diameter springs. Finding springs with the correct wire diameter and outer diameter on AliExpress is fairly easy, but the you will most likely need to buy springs longer than what is listed and cut them to the proper length with wire cutters.
