Description

All holds are designed to be mounted with #8 screws.

This is my first attempt at creating climbing holds using SolidPython2 and OpenSCAD. I will eventually recreate all typical hold types, as I plan to make all of the holds on my homewall. This set is a general proof of concept for the parametric coding process for each hold type as I've learned the software. I also intend to upload my code once it is clearer, with some documentation for how each parameter can be used to turn the same model into several types of holds.

Use at your own risk. There is no certainty of print quality. I have had no issues with strength or delamination, but your holds may break on you. I have printed some with PETG and some with PLA Basic/Matte. Walls matter more than infill, in my experience. I will be testing in the future if I can lower infill even more with enough walls. Right now, I'm doing 5 walls with 35% infill. I would like to model the texture later, but for now I have found fuzzy skin with low point distance/high thickness (0.2 mm and 0.7-1 mm, respectively) to be grippy but comfortable for me. I would suggest printing something small first to find your preferred settings. Pat some chalk onto them and it makes a big difference.

The jugs are good. If anything the cup jug is too good, if your wall is not steep. May have to flip it to an undercling. The crimps are also good, and I find them very comfortable. The doorknob hold doesn't feel great, but I'm hoping it's an interesting training stimulus. I think the square flat pinch may be my favorite.
