Sign Set: PLA & PETG Sorting Signs – Recycling instead of Trash ♻️

Small signs, big impact: Neatly separate PLA and PETG – so that filament scraps don't just end up in household waste, but (if you like) in the recycling loop. Perfect for: failed prints, supports & "oops" prototypes 😁

What's it about?

"Print waste" inevitably accumulates during 3D printing: calibrations, prototypes, failed prints, brims, supports... that accumulates faster than you can say "just one more test print". I now send my sorted filament scraps to the “Recycling Fabrik in Braunschweig” (there are others now too) – and use two simple boxes for presorting PLA and PETG so that nothing gets mixed up.

What you get

  • 2 signs: PLA + PETG
  • clearly visible, simple, works
  • ideal for sorting boxes / collection containers / etc

Why separate?

PLA and PETG should not go into one pot (uh... container) together
Clean separation = better recycling, less effort – and depending on the program, you even get more "points/discount" if material (and possibly color) is properly sorted

Assembly

I glued the signs to the boxes with hot glue
Alternatives: double-sided tape (residue-free) or super glue (for "forever")

If you use the signs: a like, comment, or a make from you would be great 👍😉

Print Tips / Settings

  • Best to place the text side on the print bed (simply looks the cleanest)
  • PEI plate recommended (for a nice finish)
  • 0.20 mm layer height (optional: 0.16 mm for extra fine)
  • Line width 1st layer with 0.4 nozzle at 0.38mm
  • 2 walls, Arachne
  • 15% infill (Grid or Crosshatch)
  • no supports needed
