Description
1/144 scale card kit model of the Boulton Paul Defiant. Part of my “Battle of Britain Series”. The Defiant was used by the Royal Air Force in the defense of Britain. Designed as a turret fighter to attack bombers it lacked forward-firing guns. This made the Defiant vulnerable when confronted with regular fighters, altho they scored some victories surprising the enemy who mistook them for Hurricanes and attacked the Defiant from behind to be met by a huge volume of fire from the turret. Later the Defiant was switched to nightfighter duty where it did quite well. Other models in this series will be the Hawker Hurricane, Supermarine Spitfire, Messerschmitt Bf-109, Messerschmitt Bf-110 and a few others.
