• Optimized Materials:
  • Body: Print with PLA for excellent stiffness and reliable in-place printing. PETG is an option but may not work as smoothly.

  • Spring: Must be printed with PETG for durability; PLA springs are prone to breaking.

     

• Pre-Tension Design: Unlike many 3D-printed alternatives, this design mimics traditional clothespins by incorporating pre-tension for a firm grip. Achieved by printing the spring separately and inserting it manually. The spring exists in three variants with multiple stiffnesses (low, medium and high). Medium or high stiffness are recommended, the example in the GIF is medium tension.

   

• Easy Assembly: After printing the PLA body, snap the internal supports by firmly pressing on the clothespin legs. Then, open and close it a few times to ensure smooth operation. Finally, insert the PETG spring, which fits seamlessly into the design for quick and reliable assembly. See the image below for the assembly instructions.
