PLA - V2 Stronger Hooks and a Better Fit

As this part of the printer becomes quite hot also during PLA printing I think the ventilation holes are needed to cool down the motors. So I do no print the surfaces, i.e. I get a mesh s a result to let in or out the air for cooling and prevent the dust to get into the printer.

Wow it looks awesome. There are no motors on these rollers. The motors are located in the main chamber of the printer and can withstand temperatures of up to 80 degrees Celsius. When the chamber is ventilated by the rear fan, there is no possibility of them overheating.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe only the Bambu Lab engineers could give the final answer to that, as the motors are not on these rollers but directly below that hole on the inside. Heat usually reduces the lifespan of electronic, electrical, and mechanical components. This is clearly a conflicting objective in the printing chamber of a 3D printer. This dust protection mesh option is just one way to keep dust out and maintain the possibly desired airflow. So let everyone decide between the options...

The print quality is satisfactory; however, the components do not properly integrate with my P1S. More precisely, one fits snugly, while the other remains loose. I initially printed this with PETG and shall attempt a print using PLA, as the underlying concept holds considerable merit, thereby warranting a five-star rating

Sometimes it happens. It is due to the quality of the parts in Bambulab, which differ slightly. If you want, you can easily adjust it in Bambu Studio: ➡️ Go to the Precision tab and find the "XY Contour Compensation" option. ➡️ Use a positive value (e.g. +0.05) to slightly expand outer contours. This simple adjustment can help fine-tune the fit without editing the 3D model itself!

I printed this dust cover and I'm really impressed with how well it turned out. The fit is absolutely perfect, it snaps right into place and stays secure. The print is clean and precise, with no rough edges or warping. It does exactly what it’s supposed to: keeps dust out while looking neat and professional. I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable dust cover!

Print was solid and smooth; the prongs that hold it to the machine seem like they could be strengthened or possibly spread further apart for more of a tactile feel when you clip them in. Happy to keep dust out of the machine none the less.
