Introducing the Mechalink Adjustable Desk Lamp Kit, a versatile and stylish lighting solution designed using the innovative Mechalink component system. This 3D-printed lamp kit is perfect for DIY enthusiasts and designers looking to add a personal touch to their workspace or home decor.

Key Features:

• Modular Design: Built entirely with Mechalink connectors, the lamp showcases the versatility of this component system, offering adjustable angles and customizable configurations.
• Functionality Meets Style: The lamp features a translucent, ribbed lampshade for diffused lighting, paired with vibrant, contrasting colours for a modern aesthetic.
• Customizable Assembly: I have not arranged the components according to colour. You are welcome to do this in the Bambu slicer to suit your preferences. I chose to print the lampshade in clear PLA for effect, but you may opt for an opaque colour instead to match your desired aesthetic.
• Stability: I originally used three 40mm suction cups with M5 threads (sourced from Amazon) for enhanced stability on various surfaces - the STL file is available in the file listing if you prefer this option. This new print profile uses the Maker's Supply 40mm mushroom suction cups.

Special Assembly Note:

• The M4 bolts used in this kit require a small head diameter of 6.5mm to fit into the hex recesses of the Mechalink components.
• Using lock nuts on the moving joints work best. Please do not overtighten these to reduce wear and ensure smooth movement.
• I have used a 608 bearing (available from Maker's Supply) on the base to create a smooth pivoting effect. It is a press fit, so ensure you debur the hole first for proper installation.
• The ratchet mechanism includes a lock screw from the bottom. Do not overtighten this screw to maintain optimal functionality.
• The included M4 spanner with a hex bar insert is used to adjust the ratchet to three positions:
  1. Lock
  2. Ratchet
  3. Free Movement

Upgrades:

1. Springs on the arms to improve stability and allow for more precise adjustments.
2. Press suction cups for easier installation and enhanced grip on smooth surfaces - the new print profile uses these from Maker's Supply.

Tools Required:
Depending on your screws, you will need either a 2.5mm Allen key or a Philips screwdriver, and a 7mm spanner (or re-print / use the ratchet lever).
