Description

PTFE / Filament Cutter

V2.0 here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/921158#profileId-883249

This tool can be used to achieve a square cut on your PTFE tubes (4mm and 6mm) as well as 1.75mm Filament. (If you ever need to).

I had an issue with those I could find, which had exposed blades when stored or not in use. I also did not like it that they had odd shapes. This fits well within the gridfinity universe length and height wise.

You will need some hardware

  • 3 x M3 Bolts, 14mm (There's allowance for longer lengths)
  • 3 x M3 Nuts, (will be press fit and captured)
  • 1 x Razor (it will be sandwiched between 2 parts with a ‘chuck’ through the middle slit of every standard dual razor)

Print in whatever material you wish, PLA works just fine. Havent tried materials with shrinkages but tolerances have been designed into the model.

The built is pretty much self-explanatory, after assembly, give it a few twists open and close to wear in the fit!

If you wish to have the f3d model, I would be more then happy to provide upon request.

• The PTFE tubes can now be laid in instead of running through the whole tool in order to get to the desired cutting point.

V3.0

• Reduced over all size

• Less hardware, one less set of M3 hardware

• Variable fillets, better to handle

• Added 45° cut for 1.75mm filaments
