Description

I recently received a needle felting kit, and the handle that was included left much to be desired. Searching online, I was shocked at the lack of 3D printable alternatives! I decided to design my own in order to fill that gap~

This 3D-printed handle follows a similar ergonomic shape to a standard wooden felting needle handle, with a wider grip for better comfort and control. It comes with a protective twist-and-lock cap, so you can easily and safely store your needle when not in use!

To assemble, first insert your needle into the threaded side of the tip, and line the “L” with the slot. Carefully screw the tip into the handle base, then cover your needle with the cap, and twist tight in order to lock it all in place! The cap may be an extra snug fit at first! This is intentional: it should wear down and become smoother over time.

I really, really like your design a lot. But the point in the handle at the bottom of the threads is way too thin and breaks fairly easily. Also I was trying to figure out how to make me needles fit better? Looks like you put a hole of 2 mm for the needles and my needles are 1.82mm. But even after printing at 107% I still have to drill out the hole for the needles. Any suggestions?

Hi! I actually had the same issue so I designed my own handle that is compatible with the other components that's stronger around the neck area to prevent braking.

Can you make the hole a little bigger? I can not get my needle through. Otherwise I like it very much.

Handle works well, saves from carpal tunnel. IMPORTANT: If you have needles with 1.9mm+ diameter, and longer than ~80mm, you will need to scale it to fit.

The print is perfect, my needles fit perfectly and the feel is excellent Unfortunately, they always break over time at the point above the thread

Hi! I had the same issue, so I remodelled a replacement handle with thicker walls to prevent the snapping. It should be listed on my profile :) The rest of the model is perfect and they did an amazing job!

Top product! This shows that the developer has truly put in a lot of effort. The holders are handy, the closure works well, I can only recommend it. My wife felts animals now and then and has been looking for proper holders for a long time, I printed three for her and she immediately wanted three more :-)

The different sizes refer to the size of the lid, not the size of the handle. Don't make the same mistake I did :)
