Description

Okay. I admit it… I was wrong… when I posted what I called “THE gift for that helicopter pilot in your life, the Fortunate Son Switch” I said there's two kinds of helo pilots; 1) The kind that will (even proudly) admit “Fortunate Son” is their theme song -every- time they fly, even if it's just playing in their heads, and 2) Damn liars.

Turns out there's a third kind. the kind that, at times, when the surf hits just right and they rrrreally have to get to the beach… the need for the Wagner Switch. Or also know as the “Override of the Valkyries”… Because who doesn't like a bit of screaming women in horned helmets as they swoop down from the sky? sings “Kill the wabbit…. kill the waaaaabbit…” softly to himself…

Easily assembled, just like the Chemtrail Switch, and available in one, two and three colours. The shorter rocker switch is for underneath the flip-up safety-cover which attaches to the base with the small pin. Install the pin with the cover in the open position and give the cover a few gentle tries to wear in the pins. For those without AMS; just hit the raised letters with a sharpie or a white paintmarker.

Absolutely love these. I was an Aerial Gunner/CrewChief on UH-1N helicopters, so the Fortunate Son hits me in the feels. Never cared for Valkyrie, but I always have the picture of a ton of Huey's and Cobra's in my head when I hear it. I slightly modified each to have Silver Switch, Switch Guard, and Jamnut for a more realistic look along with Blue/Grey. Love the Red Guard switch closing and closes the switch! I also put negative holes to fit 4x2 magnets for my beer fridge and toolbox at work.

Over 30 years ago I crewed Cobras in Germany. Had many flights with my pilot. We always said we needed a war song. I remember the Hueys in Apocalypse Now with Override of the Valkyries, but wanted our own. We could never agree on anything. Great times!

Not sure how I would do a template, altho I have been toying with the idea of posting parts so you can mix and match to make your own. Until I've figured out how to do that, I am willing to take requests.

you have to excuse me as I’m new to this platform. but if you upload stl of the parts without the text that would work. even just the stl files it would be easy to then cut off the text to then place one’s own text. anyway. really great stuff . I printed the frog one and put it on my dart frog enclosure. hilarious lol

Absolutely love this! I have a lot of years busting wrenches on helicopters, and i definitely flew with my share of 'nam vets. this is great. I'm going to swap out some of the parts for some real switches and incorporate into a project box for full sound. This is actually the most excited I've been about a new print in a while!

is it possible to change the text? I know it's sacrilegious! I'm a teacher and would love to change the text!

Did anyone else notice there is no off position on the Fortunate Son switch? Both marked on.
